About our operation... We start with peelers brought into the docks right here in Oxford, Maryland by the local watermen.
Each of our shedding tubs can hold up to 500 peelers at a time. The water is constantly circulated from the creek (seen in the background) optimizing our shedding operation. During the heat of the summer we use a special cover which filters light, keeping the water temperature low enough to induce continued operation. Depending on the season - temperature, water temperature, etc. - we are able to process up to 2500 crabs at a time.
From here, they are placed directly into the freezers awaiting shipment to your door.
